Britney Spears is doing her homework as she prepares for her series of gigs at London’s O2 Arena – the singer is reportedly studying video footage of shows there.

The Toxic singer – who hasn’t played live in the UK since her 2004 Onyx Hotel Tour – kicks off an eight-night residency at the London music venue on June 3.

And Spears is so determined to make the gigs memorable, she has been doing mountains of research – and will also be sending spies to report back on upcoming gigs by Girls Aloud and the Pussycat Dolls, according to British newspaper The Sun.

A source says, “Britney knows these shows are absolutely crucial.

“She hasn’t played in the UK for five years so there is a lot riding on them.”
