Daniel Craig will trade his famous tuxedo for a bad guy uniform when he takes on his next movie role – the James Bond actor has signed up to play the evil seaman Red Rackham in the upcoming Steven Spielberg screen adaptation of The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn.

The film – scheduled for release in 2011 – also star’s Craig’s Defiance costar Jamie Bell, who will play the fearless young reporter Tintin.

According to reports, the flick, which is expected to be the first in a screen trilogy, is already in production – in 3-D.

Lord of the Rings‘ Oscar-winning director Peter Jackson is set to direct the sequel.
