Paris Hilton has revealed that her ex-beau Benji Madden banned straight men from competing to be her best friend on her new UK TV show Paris Hilton’s British Best Friend.

Paris, 27, admits Good Charlotte rocker Benji – who she was dating when she started filming the ITV 2 series – was uncomfortable with her being surrounded by hot-blooded heterosexuals.

She says, “When I was shooting the show I had a boyfriend. There were a lot of straight people who tried out but he didn’t really believe they wanted to be my best friend, he thought they wanted to be more so we didn’t allow any straight boys. Maybe next season.”

Paris also revealed she ruled out Amy Winehouse as an option for her new pal. “I love her music but I don’t know if I could handle that lifestyle,” she said, explaining that “there’s a lot of advantages to being my best friend because I’m a lot of fun, I travel the world, I have a great time, especially when I come to London.”
