Britney Spears has said she’ll cancel her upcoming Circus would tour – unless she’s allowed to take her children on the road with her.
The Toxic singer, 27, kicks off the 33 date tour in New Orleans on March 3, 2009.
But she is threatening to pull plug as ex-husband Kevin Federline’s lawyers continue to block an agreement allowing her to take sons Sean Preston and Jayden James with her, according to TMZ.com.
Britney’s father, Jamie, and Federline have reportedly been in negotiations to have the boys travel with her; and they would have homes in three bases – New Jersey, New Orleans and Los Angeles. Sean and Jayden would stay in one of these three bases and the Womanizer hitmaker would commute back and forth while doing concerts in each region.
Britney has also agreed to pay Kevin in excess of $4,000 a week for each week she’s on tour. The singer would apparently get Kevin his own pad in each of the three bases.
However, the Spears patriarch and Kevin worked out the arrangement without the help of lawyers; and when Spears’ legal team became aware of the plan, they were furious, claiming Jamie went behind their back. Federline’s lawyers have said they object to the plan but won’t specifically say why.
Britney, 27, now has close to 50/50 custody and the trio has also worked out a long-term agreement, which would extend the arrangement.
