Boy George Lands Job Scrubbing Prison Kitchen
Jailed pop star Boy George has impressed prison bosses with his hard-working attitude – by scrubbing pots and pans for £15 a week.
The former Culture Club star – who was jailed for 15 months in January after falsely imprisoning male escort Audun Carlsen, whom he chained to a hook in the bedroom of his East London home – works for nine hours a day in the prison kitchen.
A source tells the Sunday Mirror newspaper, “George spends most of his days with his hands in soapy water.
“It’s real comedown for him but he’s dealing with it with good humor and putting on a brave face.”
George, 47, is in the induction unit of Edmunds Hill Category C prison, Suffolk.
Fans have sent the Karma Chameleon hitmaker more than 400 letters and cards and hundreds of pounds in cash, which he puts in a jail bank account.
