Cheryl Cole has threatened to quit her role as a judge on The X Factor if Lily Allen is drafted in to replace Dannii Minogue.

“Cheryl can’t bear Lily ever since Lily called her stupid and a lot worse,” a source tells British newspaper the Daily Mail.

“Lily would love to do The X Factor but Cheryl has told Simon she’ll walk if Lily gets it.”

Lily, 23, has publicly stated she would love to be a judge on the popular TV talent show.

“I haven’t been asked but I’d love to do it,” she recently said.

“The world would be a lesser place if we did not have winners Leona Lewis and Alexandra [Burke]. It’s a great program and I think I’d be quite good.”

Show boss Simon Cowell is now said to be looking at an American actress to replace Minogue.
