Blair Witch Set For Second Sequel
The Blair Witch Project is set to haunt movie theaters for a third time.
Blair Witch Director Daniel Myrick has confirmed there are early plans to make a second sequel despite the poor showing of 2000’s Blair Witch 2: Book of Shadows.
He said, “Myself and the producer, Gregg Hale, have been talking and revisiting the idea behind a prequel that explores the original story and mythology of Blair Witch folklore.
“Ultimately the decision is up to Lionsgate, which owns the rights to the project and whether or not they want to take the leap with us.
“But we’re developing some ideas and exploring some storylines that we like, and checking out some locations. We’d like to do one. It would be great.”
The first film, The Blair Witch Project, was made on a budget of $22,000 and went on to make a whopping $248,639,099.
Book of Shadows was less-impressive: it cost $15m to make and grossed $47m in revenue.
