Katy Perry is reveling in a rare accolade – red carpet style queen.

The singer – who topped the charts last year with her catchy single I Kissed a Girl - has been singled out by fashion commentators for the pink Basil Soda dress she wore to the recent Grammy Awards – leaving the 24-year-old surprised and delighted.

She says, “Usually I’m worst dressed on the red carpet.

“That was actually a plan-B dress. I had a dress specially made but it just didn’t work.

“My stylist managed to find somewhere that was open just before the ceremony and he managed to find that one. It was so lucky.

“That was just my moment where I could look grown up and pretty.”
