Zac Efron: ‘I Wasn’t Cool at School’

Zac Efron says he was “average” at school.
The High School Musical star – who is currently dating (and rumored to be marrying!) his former costar Vanessa Hudgens – insists he wasn’t seen as “cool” during his younger years.
Efron tells the forthcoming April issue of Family Circle magazine, “I was average.
“I had a lot of friends but I was not in that ultracool circle. I was a bit of a class clown. I guess to get through the tedium of the quadratic formula, I thought everyone was fair game.
“Between self-discovery and the social hierarchy, high school can be the most confusing time of your life.”
Zac, now 21, often argued with his mum and dad when he was growing up.
“Oh man, it seemed like every weekend I was in trouble for something,” he says. “If I got home late, I would get chewed out.”
