Michael Jackson has touched down in London amid speculation he’s set to announce a series of gigs at the British capital’s O2 Arena.
The Thriller singer, 50, arrived by private jet in the afternoon, with his camp saying he would greet the world’s media – and a few die-hard fans – at the O2 Arena in London tomorrow (Wednesday March 4) to deliver his eagerly awaited announcement.
Jackson – who checked into The Lanesborough hotel in central London – is expected to reveal he will play a 30-date residency at the venue this summer.
It has also been reported that Michael – who last performed in London at the World Music awards in 2006 – could end up exceeding Prince’s 21-night residency at the 18,000 capacity venue in 2007; if demand for the concerts is as high as expected, he could play to an estimated half a million fans.
Some experts are speculating that so many ticket sales could generate up to $100 million.
