Amy Winehouse Charged With Assault

Amy Winehouse has been charged with assault after she allegedly punched a fan last September at a charity ball in London.
The Rehab singer – who recently arrived back in London after spending almost three months on holiday in the Caribbean – has been ordered to appear in court later this month in connection with claims that she lashed out and hit dancer Sherene Flash, who had asked if she could take a photograph of her.
Flash says initially the singer agreed to pose for a snap but changed her mind and hit her in the eye instead screaming: “Life can’t go on. I can’t do this any more.”
Amy, 25, was there at the event, held at Berkeley Square, to give her support and sing backing vocals for her 13-year-old god daughter Dionne Bromfield, who was performing live on stage at the bash, but her shambolic behavior left fans shocked.
Winehouse was charged after going to West End Central police station in Savile Row by appointment yesterday and is due to appear before City of Westminster magistrates on 17 March.
