Ashlee Simpson Took Melrose Place Role For Baby Son

Ashlee Simpson took a role in Melrose Place in order to spend more time with her baby son Bronx.
The actress/singer will play a lead character named Violet, a small-town girl who moves to L.A. with a secret, in the show spinoff.
“She wanted something stable so she could be close to her baby,” a source told People magazine.
“She was specifically looking for something in television as her next step, that filmed in Los Angeles, so she wouldn’t have to be away from Bronx.”
“Music is still a passion but [Ashlee] felt this was the best thing for her and her family at this point in her life,” adds the source. “She’s really excited about Melrose Place.”
Simpson – who is to appear with husband Pete Wentz in an upcoming episode of CSI: New York – starts filming the updated version of the hit 1990s show in April.
