Robert Pattinson was “beyond wasted” at a recent party in LA – but was still wise enough not to hook up with Paris Hilton, according to reports.

The British actor – who is currently in Vancouver, Canada filming Twilight sequel New Moon – apparently caught Hilton’s eye during the Feb. 22 bash.

But despite Pattinson having consumed vast amounts of alcohol, he knew better than to get involved with the infamous man-eater.

A source tells the National Enquirer, “Paris was on a mission – she kept chasing him around like a little puppy.

“He was beyond wasted. He couldn’t keep track of who he was talking to and couldn’t have cared less about her.

“No matter how drunk he was, Rob know better than to hook up with Paris.

“It was hilarious! After Paris managed to get Rob alone in a room, he ran off and she couldn’t find him. Paris kept walking around asking people where he went.”

It was recently claimed that Hilton, 28, had been desperately trying to land herself a role in Twilight.
