Mark Ronson has started work on Duran Duran’s 13th album.

The super-producer – who has previously worked with Lily Allen, Amy Winehouse and Christina Aguilera – is hoping to bring a “really fresh” sound to the band, whose hits include Rio and Girls On Film.

A source says, “Mark is really excited by the whole project. He thinks he can bring a really fresh sound to the band.”

Ronson, 33, recently revealed that he was planning to start work on his third album in April.

He said, “I’m going to start a new record in April, to get it out later this year.

“I’ve only just finished Daniel Merriweather’s record, so I’ve not got around to working on my own one yet.”
