Making new movie Monsters v Aliens took Kiefer Sutherland back to the most important movie he ever saw – Bambi – and the tears he shed.

The 24 actor lends his voice to the character of General W.R. Monger in the animated flick, which also stars Reese Witherspoon, Seth Rogen and Hugh Laurie.

And Kiefer admits how he was overcome with emotion while making the movie.

He says, “Bambi is one of the most dramatic films I’ve ever seen.

“The mother dies in the first act. As much as I cried, at the end of the film I was just amazed at how much I felt.

“And that drew me to see other films. So animated films, for me, were the doorway to my life in movies.”
