Robert Downey Jr. is preparing to pile on the pounds for his role in Iron Man 2.
The actor, 44, had to slim down to play lean detective Sherlock Holmes in Guy Ritchie’s movie — but now he has to put on weight and muscle to be a believable Tony Stark again.
He says, “I’ve got to not be the skinny Brit anymore.
“I’ve got to get back to the Tony that everyone knew and may have loved. I’ve got to pump it up a little. Just for now, I am back on the steak diet.”
Iron Man II — which also stars Gwyneth Paltrow, Mickey Rourke, Sam Rockwell, Scarlett Johansson and Samuel L. Jackson — is due to hit theaters in May 2010.
