Britney Spears stormed off the stage during her gig in Vancouver, Canada, last night — because the arena was too smoky.

According to reports, the Womanizer hitmaker — who is a smoker — had only performed three songs during her show when she walked off for over 40 minutes.

Concertgoers were then told the the show would be canceled if people continued to smoke cigarettes and marijuana in the arena as it was “unsafe” for Britney and her performers. Watch video after the jump.

Britney then returned to the stage and continued with her performance.

A source said, “We were concerned for the lighting guys and everyone else working on the show.”

A representative for Britney said, “We want to apologize to all the fans who attended our Vancouver show for the brief pause in Britney’s set. Crew members above the stage became ill due to a ventilation issue.”
