Robert Pattinson ‘Embarrassed by Besotted Fans’

Robert PattinsonRobert Pattinson and his besotted fans have become a big problem on the Vancouver, Canada, set of Twilight sequel New Moon.

Hundreds of the hunky British actor’s admirers have been descending on the Canadian set of the movie, forcing producers to splash out on extra security.

“Robert is totally embarrassed and more than a little scared by the whole thing,” a source said. “It’s got to the point where security measures have had to be trebled to keep these people off the set.

“At one point a fake shoot was set up to throw these kids off the scent but they are surprisingly resourceful. Robert is having to come to terms with having his own personal fan club wherever he goes.”

    I do fell so sorry for him cause he acts like he Is alittle SHY so maybe people should just give him a break.I know he put himself out there but people need to think he Is only human just like all his fans.

    I can speak for the awkward and shy; because I am one person. And, for me…I would never be able to be in the spotlight like that. It’s scary to know that people can be so overwhelmed by a fictitious character. Two years ago, this guy could walk down the street, go to a pub and sing, and just be. If he is as shy and awkward, as I have read him to be…I wouldn’t be surprised if he disappears for a long while, to try and get his identity back.

    Oh Grow UP Rob! In 20 years no one’s gonna give a crap. Enjoy the power an enthusiastic fan base gives you, while you can. It’s the freaking golden ticket so embrace it with grace.

    Being famous has it’s downside, but at least he is doing what he loves and an extremely good job of it! Everyone loves Robert Pattinson and they all want more…he should start cloning himself and just get it overwith!!

    I really feel sorry for Rob. I know he appreciates his fans. But I think it can be overwhelming. One comment told Rob to grow up. Being shy has nothing to do with maturity. I’m 45 and couldn’t imagine dealing with all that. He seems to be handling things pretty well as far as I can see. And who knows, this article could be false anyway. 90%of what’s written about Rob is false anyway. The man is a great talent and I hope he doesn’t let Hollywood jade him.

    Hey to the person that left the comment for Robert to grow up…that’s not a very mature answer to this problem. Robert has always been very shy and akward when it comes to being in the spotlight (you can see that in older interviews of his). I think that he was very content going from job to obscure job and not really caring if the next job was his last.

    I really don’t think that he expected Twilight to be the circus that it has turned out to be. You have to remember that prior to his audition he had no idea about the following that these books had. I think that the Twilight world has gotten out of hand and I think the way that the media has invaded his life with rumors and lies is downright despicable. Poor guy can’t even take a leak without someone telling everyone what color it is, okay that’s an exaggeration but come-on the leave the guy alone for a bit – your going to scare him off!

    what the hell? people making out they well know this actor that so happened to have a job as acting as some fictional character that loads of people are overily obessesssed with. How on earth would you know how deeply sensitive or shy he is , all they know is that this guy has been subjected to a load of crazy pyschos and thats why i feel sorry for him.

    ridiculous. i read ALL the news on New Moon. some fans were hanging out near the school (very orderly at designated spots) and other locations some do find but they tend to be polite and wait not causing a disturbance. i am THRILLED that everything is going so well it seems. THE ENTIRE CAST is HUGE in every way – gorgeous, young, sexy! Summit got off EASY on very few fans being on the Twilight set. would they have preferred that Twilight BOMB so they didnt have to make the sequels? (doubt it)

    ROBERT goes out to dinner all the time in Vancouver without bodyguards. he isnt “that” scared sweety. oops Adam typo alert – its TRIPLED not TREBLED :-)

    A friend of mine has worked at Fan Conventions and she has said that actors are not nomal people. Regardless how may people say they are normal and down to earth. You can treat them like normal people (and I suspect some rather like that…) but they are not normal people.

    People tend to believe what they read, if its in print then its got to be true. So you need to question just how responible is the journalist and are they checking with more than one source.

    And Vancouver is a place which is amazingly anonymous. One can get out and about for the most part without being accoasted.

    Now I am a fan of the book series, amazed at how it can suck (pardon the pun) a reader in, and I am a fan of Robert Pattinson, I think his will be an interesting career to watch.
    However, I still shake my head at the obsessed nature of some people to travel all the way to Vancouver from where ever. And I wonder a few things…well one thing…

    Do these people have a life?
