Amy Winehouse’s mom admits she’s “glad” the troubled singer is in St. Lucia — because she’s far away from her estranged husband.
Speaking to Britain’s Heat magazine, Janis Winehouse says she’s convinced the Back to Black songstress can get her life back on track if she stays “out of harm’s way” and splits from badboy Blake Fielder-Civil for good.
“I’m so glad she’s away in St. Lucia as she’s away from Blake,” Janis said. “Thank goodness she can distance herself. He doesn’t have her number out there.
“[When she returned to Britain] she was in touch with Blake, but personally, as her mother, I find him very controlling and manipulating.
“I think Amy is finally coming round to seeing that the marriage just isn’t worth it. She’s getting herself cleaned up, which says a lot, and she’s really put her mind to getting her life back together.
“I’d be devastated if she got back with him. She doesn’t need Blake in her life. She is getting used to the fact that he’s not good for her.
“She’s spoken a bit about moving [to the Caribbean]permanently, and I think it might do her the world of good.”
Winehouse, 25, is said to be furious at reports from the weekend that Blake got another woman pregnant.
