Britney Spears and Mel GibsonIs Britney Spears responsible for Mel Gibson’s marriage problems?

British tabloid the Daily Mirror seems to think so!

“Mel invited Britney to his estate to offer a place of respite,” a source tells the paper, referring to when Gibson asked Spears to join him and his wife in Costa Rica in 2008. “He also took her for dinner in LA. But the innuendo and whispers got to Robyn. She had to get out and this meant divorce.

“Robyn doesn’t believe anything happened but thought it odd a 50-something man struck a friendship with someone so young. She was aware what people might be thinking and wasn’t very happy to say the least.”

Gibson announced last week that he and Robyn — his wife of almost 28 years — had filed for divorce. She’ll likely get 50% of  his $900 million fortune.

    Living in the spotlight himself,he would know how you can be hounded by the press,and I dont believe for one moment Robyn would have minded.
