Susan Boyle Makes American TV Debut

Britain’s Got Talent star Susan Boyle made her American TV debut on CBS’ Early Show Thursday morning.



The 47-year-old last week stunned judges — including Simon Cowell and Piers Morgan — when she performed I Dreamed a Dream on the British TV talent show.

Although the audience initially had low expectations of Boyle, she received a standing ovation when she finished her stirring rendition.

The judges then judges voted her through unanimously.

“Susan, I knew the minute you walked out on that stage that we were gonna hear something extraordinary and I was right,” said Cowell — who had rolled his eyes at her earlier. “Susan, you are a tiger aren’t you?”

Boyle’s performance has since been viewed over 13 million times on YouTube.

    She is amazing. This lady came out on stage and people immediately started laughing at her and criticizing her just because of the appearance and unfortunately I include myself on the list. She started singing and shocked the stadium and from the looks of it, the whole world. I learned my lesson, never judge someone based on appearance!

    Everytime I’ve watched and rewatched her video, I break down into tears. Simon had better snatch her up quickly for recording contracts if he hasn’t already. Even if she doesn’t win the contest, “brava!” to her for pursuing her dream and having the confidence to stand on a stage in front of a large audience and prove that any preconceived ideas they may have had would knowingly be shattered simply because of her talent and guts.
