Madonna Faces Another Battle in Adoption Bid

Madonna is facing another battle in her bid to adopt Malawian tot Mercy James — her dad last night launched a legal bid for full custody.
James Kambewa, 24, who has never met Mercy, has written to the Human Rights Consultative Committee — which opposes Madonna’s bid — objecting to the adoption.
He said, “She is my daughter. Madonna has millions but that doesn’t make her a good mum. Parental love is worth more than money.
“She doesn’t portray good morals. How can a woman of 50 dance almost naked on stage? In Malawi, women respect themselves.”
Mercy, 4, has been at Kondanani orphanage since mum Mwandida Maunde, 18, died after giving birth.
A court has already denied the Holiday hitmaker the chance to adopt her, but Madonna is said to be confident of overturning that ruling at an appeal on Monday.
