David Hasselhoff has shot down claims he was admitted to hospital this past weekend due to alcohol poisoning — insisting someone is out to ruin his reputation.

RadarOnline reported Sunday that former Baywatch star was hospitalized Saturday after his distraught 16-year-old daughter, Hayley, found him unconscious on the floor of his home in Encino, California.

But Hasselhoff has spoken out to set the record straight.

“Mr. Hasselhoff was at no time in the condition described in those stories,” his lawyers, Melvin Goldsman and Marci Levine, said in a statement Monday. “Mr. Hasselhoff spoke to his attorneys on Sunday and was absolutely fine.

“Mr. Hasselhoff is both disturbed and saddened by the fact that a certain individual is disseminating grossly inaccurate stories about him to the press for ulterior motives.”

Hasselhoff, 56, has had a history of alcohol problems, which included a home video in 2007 in which he was drunk and lying on the floor, eating a hamburger, while his daughter Taylor, 18, begged him to stop.

The America’s Got Talent judge’s rep, Judy Katz, said Sunday that the star was “fine and well and happy and is celebrating his father Joe Hasselhoff’s 80th birthday tonight at dinner … along with his girlfriend, Kimberly.”
