Hugh Jackman Unfazed by Fame

Hugh Jackman insists he can cope with his superstar status — because fame comes with being a successful actor.
“It takes a little bit of adjusting to,” said the X-Men Origins: Wolverine star. “But I grew up in a really big, fairly chaotic household, if there’s a lot of chaos going on and if I’m the center of attention, it’s okay for me, I can cope with it — I see [fame] for what it is, I know it will go at some point and I also know that it’s not really who I am and it’s also part of the job.”
“If you sign up to be an actor and you want to audition for big movies and you don’t want any of that then I think you’re being a little naive,” he added.
“It’s a very different dynamic in Australia. We don’t really have a star system so you have to go overseas to get that.”
The actor — who is married to Australian actress Deborra-Lee Furness — also addressed being named People magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive last year.
He said: “I can’t really take it seriously. I try to use it at home but it just doesn’t get me very far. [My wife says] ‘take the garbage out,’ and I say ‘Deb, I can’t do that. I can’t be seen with the garbage over my shoulder – not sexy,’ and she says ‘oh I disagree, that’s the only thing sexy about a man’.
