Paula Abdul blames Simon Cowell for all the rumors that she has a drug habit.
Ever since the multi-millionaire music mogul joked that his fellow American Idol judge had a penchant for painkillers, Paula has been dogged by rumors she is an addict — and now she’s had enough.
“Simon [Cowell] started a very silly joke rumor that’s turned into a very frustrating time for me,” said Abdul.
“People have been blowing this out of proportion. I’ve been nothing but the bravest kind of girl who has been dealing with a tremendous amount of spinal cord injury and people forget that.
“I’ve had at least five surgeries in the past eight seasons of American Idol. But ever since Simon made a joke it has never been left alone. But now I am officially saying it is over. It was just a joke — it’s not real.”
