Robert Pattinson has played down his pretty boy image — by revealing he used to look like a girl during his younger years.

The Twilight star admits he is still struggling to come to terms with his new-found status as a heartthrob, and insists he hasn’t always been so good looking.

“I always looked like a girl up until a few years ago,” he said. “And I never did any sport, so I was always the kind of gangly guy.”

Robert — who celebrated his 23rd birthday on May 13 — recently revealed his fears that he wasn’t paying enough attention to his legions of fans.

“I feel guilty because when you have hundreds of people looking to you, you have to live up to expectations,” he said.

“You see all these people that surround you and you think that one way or another you have to please them.”
