Peter Andre has shot down claims his split from wife Katie Price is a publicity stunt — insisting it’s the real deal.
Writing about the split — which was announced last Monday — in his column for New! magazine, Andre said it had been a “devastating week for me, to say the least”.
“How anyone could think I would pretend to split up from my wife to grab headlines is beyond me — it’s just sick,” he said.
“I don’t really want to go into any detail as it’s all so raw and I’m completely crushed.
“I would, however, like to take this opportunity to set the record straight about one thing.
“You may have read or heard that this is a publicity stunt, but I can assure you it’s not.”
The Australian singer added that he was missing his children Junior and Princess “like mad”, and that he had “desperately” wanted to take Katie’s other son Harvey with him to his Cyprus bolthole, but he was not allowed to take time off from school.
