Mariah Carey shelled out thousands of dollars so her entourage could attend Cannes film festival with her.

The Touch My Body singer was eager to have all of her team with her for the event, where she was promoting her new flick Precious.

Movie studios usually foot the bill for stars and their crew, but when Mariah, 39, heard that not all of her pals would be coming she arranged to pick up the bill.

“Mariah’s really close with her team and couldn’t bear the thought of a couple of people not being able to come, so she paid for it out of her own pocket,” an insider tells British tabloid the Daily Mirror. “That’s virtually unheard of in the celeb world.”
