Penelope Cruz Feels Insecure Making Movies
Penelope Cruz feels “scared” every time she makes a movie.
The Spanish actress is currently promoting her latest project, Broken Embraces, at the Cannes Film Festival in France.
And Cruz admits she always feels some fear on a movie set, despite having won several awards, including an Oscar.
“Every time I am making a movie I feel insecure, and I feel scared, and that’s part of the way I work — if one day I would be on the set feeling too secure, that would really scare me,” she said.
In Pedro Almodovar’s Broken Embraces, Penelope plays an actress caught between her film director lover and a rich, ruthless businessman.
The 35-year-old said she found the comedy in the film harder to play than its drama.
“It’s a very delicate and subtle tone, especially with Pedro,” she said. “He’s like an orchestra director -very, very precise.”
