Amy Winehouse Dealt Another Career Blow

Posted by Adam

Amy WinehouseAmy Winehouse has been dealt another blow in her bid to rebuild her once magnificent music career — she has been dropped from a huge tribute bash for music legend Quincy Jones.

The Rehab singer — who recently canceled her comeback gig in London — apparently infuriated Quincy by turning down his offer to record for him.

Winehouse and Jones met at the Nelson Mandela 90th birthday concert in Hyde Park last summer.

Quincy apparently invited Amy and her producer pal Mark Ronson to join a string of A-list performers to record a song for an album tribute to himself.

Amy agreed, but after waiting for almost a year to hear some material, Quincy has lost faith in her and been forced to drop the track.

“The track isn’t finished and she’s not around,” said Mark. “If she’s not here then, unfortunately, there is nothing we can do about it.”

“Basically after Amy’s horrendous gig in St Lucia, and then pulling out of the Island 50th birthday gig, everyone realized she wasn’t going to get it together,” a source added to Britain’s Daily Mirror newspaper.

“Quincy Jones is one of the most respected men in the music industry, so it was a huge honour for Amy to be asked to record for him. To snub him is a big no-no.

“The frustrating thing is what there is of the track sounds really good, but it looks like no one will ever get to hear it.

“Mark tried everything to get her back in the studio to finish it, but he’s given up and everyone else is starting to too.

“Now she’s over in St Lucia she has hit the bottle and no one can get her to commit to anything.

“She has almost 18 half-recorded tracks, but just won’t knuckle down to finish any of them off. Short of locking her in the recording studio there is nothing any one can do.

“She is going to live to regret missing out on all the chances she’s been given.”
