Angelina JolieAngelina Jolie pretends to be a good mom in a bid to win over the public, it has been claimed.

The actress — who raises six kids with partner Brad Pitt — apparently spends virtually no time with her brood and leaves her children with nannies almost 24/7 — unless she needs them for a photo opportunity, according to IUC.

But Jolie and her PR team have apparently cooked up a plan to detract from the fact she’s largely absent as a parent.

“Every time Angie is set to sign on for another movie, she is instructed to tell a trusted reporter that she plans to soon retire from acting or drastically cut back her schedule so that she can spend more time with her kids,” an insider said.

“That way she avoids a potential backlash from reporters who might criticize her for being away from her family so much of the time.

“It’s brilliant. If those reporters ever heard the kids call their nanny ‘Mommy,’ which has happened more than once, they’d get the real picture.”

    This story (or should I call it Fable since it came from IUC) is quite sexist. When Pitt works no one says, he has 6 small children and doesn’t need the money, why is he working? Or he leaves the kids to Jolie and the nannies. It’s because she’s a woman that she gets this criticism, even though before Salt she didn’t work for 15 months and plans on another year or more off once this production finishes, the fact that she walks out the door to go to work is reason enough to slander her mothering abilities. It’s a tough life being a woman with such double standards!

    I challenge Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie to spend the obscene reserves held by their ‘Jolie-Pitt’ Foundation on legitimate efficient ‘humanitarian’ work or turn the funds over to others who will. To date, they have taken in $22,000,000 on the sale of baby photos alone, another 6 or 7 figures from other sources, and spent or granted only a fraction of that on ‘humanitarian’ work or ‘good will’ of any kind. The rest so far, has been spent on PR campaigns, plane rides, and super-high end accomodations for Brad and Angie in exotic locations around the world. I challenge them to operate with a reasonable overhead, open their books to prove it, get over themselves, and get their ‘foundation’ worthy of a decent rating by an independent watchdog like Charitywatch.org. Otherwise, to stop selling baby photos for their own ‘charity’ and stop seeking publicity for donations made in their own name to their own foundation/travel/PR firm within a week of their latest film or DVD release. I challenge Brad Pitt to do the same with his ‘Make it right’ Foundation. Which to date, has not been given a decent rating by ANY independent charity watchdog. Otherwise, to stop competing with ‘Habitat for Humanity’ for PR, credit, and funding. Who by the way have been building homes for the less fortunate in every major city including New Orleans for decades. ‘Habitat for Humanity’ has been ‘Top Rated’ for years by charitywatch.org and others. They operate with a low overhead, volunteer workforce, and donated materials. No similar effort can match their progress hour for hour or dollar for dollar. Unlike ‘Make it right’, the homes built by ‘Habitat’ don’t sit vacant. They don’t exclude by cost, lower income families. They are allocated and built specifically for the less fortunate who take part in the building process and move in immediately upon completion. ‘Habitat’ works in every major city including New Orleans. It puts ‘Make it right’ to shame. In fact, hundreds of legitimate charities have been given good-excellent ratings by Charitywatch.org and other independent watchdog groups. By contrast, the vast, overwhelming majority of celebrity ‘foundations’ have been rated poorly, fair, or not rated at all. They are inefficient, corrupt, focus heavily on PR, and operate with shady, self-serving, misleading accounting practices. Still, they have the nerve to self-audit, self-praise, mislead the donor/fan base, seek funding from a number of sources including ordinary people, compete with legitimate charities, and cash in on maximum PR for their inefficient ‘humanitarian’ efforts. Its not right.

    Yes, the the Jolie Pitt foundations double digit millions that have gone to Drs without Borders, Make it Right, Funding for the current Tribunal against Darfur warlords (murderers and child rapist), educational programs, NEA sponsored programs, Alliance for Immigrant Minor Children w/o Legal Representation in the U.S. and enumerable others, should all be STOPPED this second. Like Bill Schmill (poster above) I DEMAND that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie stop donating to charitis, raising orphans and making people aware of horrid human rights abuses around the world, and ONLY do what OTHER movie stars & celebrities have always done, spend money on themselves, drugs, clothes and homes – Brad & Angelina are WAY OUTTA LINE DAMMIT…they need to stop with saving poor disease and war raveged nations and U.S. homeless people, and get back on the beaches of Cabos, and smoke and tan and drink their kajillions away. Why are Brangelina so intent on actually helping those less fortunate – why can’t they be more more concerned with tanning, smoking, drinking and partying – they need to do what all the celebrities do, fck charity and charitable giving and buy JEWELS and CARS. So what if I didn’t know that 60% of all Iraqi refugees were children before Angelina representing the UN told me…I’d rather know what kind of $750 jeans are hot with ‘The Hills’ crowd.
