Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt got into a furious argument while in Cannes last week.
The Hollywood couple — who were in France to promote Brad’s new Quentin Tarantino flick Inglourious Basterds — apparently came to blows over what time to leave a party.
“They came in around 10:30 p.m. and left at midnight,” says a witness at Le Bâoli, the beachside club where Inglourious Basterds‘ post-premiere party was held. “But at one point, they got into an argument because she wanted to leave and he wanted to stay. I think he wanted to hang out with everyone, dance a bit more and enjoy himself. But Angie looked tired and just wanted to get out of there.”
And, after months of juggling filming and trying to be a mother to six young kids, “Angelina is nearly at her breaking point,” an insider tells Life & Style magazine.
Meanwhile, insiders claim Jolie is pretending to be a good mom in a bid to bolster her public image.
“Every time Angie is set to sign on for another movie, she is instructed to tell a trusted reporter that she plans to soon retire from acting or drastically cut back her schedule so that she can spend more time with her kids,” a source said.
“That way she avoids a potential backlash from reporters who might criticize her for being away from her family so much of the time.
