Adam Lambert: ‘Conforming is Not Cool’

“It’s a really, really cool thing,” said the American Idol runner-up, “to be able to show people that you can be yourself, and you should be proud of yourself, and you should own who you are and what you’re about, and never make apologies for it.”

But with regards to his sexuality, Lambert says people need to “calm down” and “keep speculating.”

On being a role model, Lambert added, “It feels really amazing to be able to try and pass that [comfort with himself] on to kids and young adults who don’t have a role model like that.

“It feels great because I never had a role model like that.”

“Conforming is not cool,” he adds. “Embracing who you are and what makes you different is actually what’s really cool … The kids that are different and out there and expressive and are bold with those choices, those are the people that grow up to be people we all want to hang out with, that become celebrities or become really successful in what they do because they believe in who they are.”

    to….none of your business….He is a talented human being and as many bigots as there is in this world, he should never say nothing…it makes me sick….God made this beautiful voice and person…..there isn’t a more perfect performer since Elvis and the Beatles….he’s made the international world change and hope he keeps it up….

    Adam is really cool. In my opinion he will be one of the biggest permormers.
    It is so sporadic the born of a star like this then why are we going to discuss his sexual orientation. Why are we going to lose time on that.
