Piers Morgan Defends Susan Boyle

Posted by Adam

Susan BoylePiers Morgan has jumped to Susan Boyle‘s defense, saying the Britain’s Got Talent superstar has been in “floods of tears” this week as she copes with the pressures of her new-found fame.

Piers said Susan — who is the red hot favorite to win the UK TV talent show — had been suffering from “almost crippling” nerves, and called for people to back off.

Piers described Boyle as “an incredibly sweet, nice, gentle person who has been propelled through this show.

“Suddenly, a month later, she’s the biggest star on the planet and I don’t say that lightly…

“Anybody who has gone through that incredible transformation is going to be feeling the most unbelievable pressure, not least of which because the final is on Saturday and she knows that everything may rest on that one performance and you could see the nerves almost crippling her on the semi-final show and I just think it’s time that everyone slightly backed off…

“Knowing her as I do, she’s been incredibly upset this week. She’s been in floods of tears.”

Morgan’s comments come just days after Susan lost her temper in the lobby of the Wembley Plaza Hotel in north London after being “wound up” by two strangers.

Police stationed at the hotel intervened in the situation. Susan, 48, was photographed talking to two police officers in the car park following the incident.

A spokesman for Boyle said: “The police were escorting a journalist from the premises who had been winding Susan up. Susan and her sister were talking to the police telling them what had happened.”

I’ve concluded that Susan is both very sweet and quite combative — with poor impulse control. Whether or not she wins on Saturday, she’ll have a profitable and satisfying career in music if she’ll only clean up her act: no more expletives, no more hip wiggles, and no more rushing up to give wet kisses to the likes of Piers Morgan! Piers appears to be a shill for Simon and a false friend to Susan. (After all, he wound her up by saying that she was bested in the BGT semi-finals by a child singer.) At one time, Susan was a sure bet to win. No suspense there! As far as Simon was concerned, that wouldn’t do — so now we have this manufactured crisis with Piers as Susan’s “Job’s comforter” and possible abettor of the Tabloid Press to which he used to belong. Yes, it’s compelling theater; but it’s also cruelly hard on a talented woman-child from the hinterland. After all, Susan was a worthwhile person before the world noticed her and will remain so if the world ever turns its back on her. The sad thing is that Susan seems to have low self-esteem which leaves her open to being hurt, again and again, because she believes that her “worth” is a gift that can be bestowed or withdrawn by others instead of something which she has already demonstrated by sacrificing the possibility of an early career in music to care for her aging parents.

Pierse Morgan and Simon Cowell are the ones that have run to all the talk shows pushing Susan Boyle. They are the ones using her to put more money in their pockets. She is a nice lady with a beautiful voice being used by these two British greedy snobs.
