Susan Boyle Loses Britain’s Got Talent

She was favorite to win, but singing sensation Susan Boyle tonight lost Britain’s Got Talent. Susan Boyle

The 47-year-old Scottish star — who became an internet phenomenon after her performance of I Dreamed a Dream was viewed over 100 million times on You Tube — was beaten by dance troupe Diversity.

The 10-strong group from north London fell to the floor and cried in surprise when they were told they had won.

Member Ashley Banjo, 20, said wining the contest had “changed our lives.”

Susan was gracious in defeat — saying, “The best people won. They are very entertaining lads. I wish you all the best.”

Diversity take home a £100,000 prize and will perform in front of the Queen at the Royal Variety Performance. Simon Cowell had earlier labeled them “sheer and utter perfection.”

In third place was saxophonist Julian Smith — who also seemed shocked at his high placing.

Despite losing the completion, it has been claimed that Boyle could go on to earn almost $10m.

Experts believe that Susan — dubbed the Hairy Angel because of her looks and voice — is guaranteed a massive windfall from record sales, endorsements and TV appearances.

They believe her global fame will guarantee she surpasses the earnings of previous winners on the show.

A show insider admitted there was an expectation she will become a millionaire: “If she comes up with an album with the kind of songs that really suit her and that everybody loves she will sell millions.

“In the next year she could comfortably make £5million. Paul Potts almost did that and Susan Boyle is much much bigger.

“They love her in America. It is all about Susan Boyle.”
