Cheryl Cole has splashed out a whopping £36,000 on a bizarre exercise machine.

The Girls Aloud singer is apparently eager to get into shape ahead of the new series of UK TV talent show The X Factor — and is desperate to look even slimmer next to fellow judge Dannii Minogue.

So Cole, 25, bought a a “quick-fix” portable wind tunnel chamber and special vacuum clothing to work out in after getting advice from staff at Harrods’ beauty salon, according to the News of The World.

“Cheryl knows she’s not fat but she’s paranoid about sitting next to Dannii on TV,” said one insider.

“She’s seen photos of Dannii looking very slender and it’s made her even more nervous. She thinks this will give her the quick fix she needs before X Factor starts in August.

“The equipment also helps smooth skin and improve elasticity, so she sees it as part of her campaign to make it in the States. She’s been advised by Simon Cowell‘s team to improve her complexion-as US TV is all shot in high definition.

“This is the latest fad among celebs and they’re starting to get convinced about the results.

“Cheryl loves that she doesn’t have to get sweaty-it’s a very glamorous way to work out.

“And she’s paranoid about cellulite, and it helps stop that by burning fat rather than building muscle.”
