Vanessa Hudgens is delighted with her role in new movie Sucker Punch — because she’s always wanted to take on an action role.
The High School Musical star says she’s keen to follow in the footsteps of Tomb Raider superstar Angelina Jolie.
“I’m so stoked about it,” Hudgens told E! News of her role in the upcoming Zach Snyder-directed flick. “I kept telling everyone, ‘I want to do an action film.’ But they were like, ‘Maybe in a few years.’ So I’m like, ‘Ha, in your face. I am doing one now!’”
Hudgens will shoot Sucker Punch after completing Beastly, which she starts filming this week in Montreal.
Vanessa’s latest film, Bandslam, hits theaters Aug. 14. “It means a lot to me,” she said. “I get to play a different character who is a lot darker and very deadpan throughout the whole thing.”
