Katy Perry Responds to Beth Ditto

Thursday, June 4, 2009

Katy PerryKaty Perry has responded to Beth Ditto‘s comments that she is “offensive” to gay culture.

The Gossip frontwoman said in an interview with Britain’s Attitude magazine that Perry’s smash hit track I Kissed A Girl is a “dyke anthem for straight girls who like to turn guys on by making out they are gay.”

Speaking to the UK’s London Paper, Perry called Ditto’s remarks “tacky”.

“I heard that she said something about me,” Perry said.

“I don’t want to get into a slanging war with anybody so I don’t want to say anything bad about her. But I’m not impressed.

“I’ve learned in the past year that one artist should never insult another artist’s music — it’s tacky. And with me, it always comes back to bite me on the ass!”

Beth Ditto is hardly a role model for the gay community herself. She is 100 times trashier and tackier than Katy, so she better look in the mirror first before judging others.
