Robert Pattinson: ‘I Don’t Feel Like a Heartthrob’

Robert PattinsonRobert Pattinson doesn’t class himself as a heartthrob.

The British actor — who plays vampire Edward Cullen in the Twilight movie franchise — says he is not worried about being typecast as a love interest — because he doesn’t think he is in real life.

“I’m so surprised things have actually worked out the way they have,” he says. “I am just thinking the whole time: ‘I don’t really have the right personality to fit into that kind of role’.

“I’m not really afraid of it though because I don’t really know how to play up that aspect of it. I don’t know if I could ever really be cast in a heartthrob role really — apart from Twilight, which I didn’t really know was a heartthrob role. I really don’t feel I am one.”

The 23-year-old star recently revealed how he was “gangly” during his teenage years.

“I always looked like a girl up until a few years ago,” he said. “And I never did any sport, so I was always the kind of gangly guy.”

    Well Rob, you may not feel like a heartthrob but let’s face it you totally are! I think that’s what draws so many women (and men) of all ages to you. It’s your personality. We love that you show no signs of conceit and your humble to the core. Your parents either did an excellent job of raising you or they spent so much time tearing you down that you have no self-esteem. Don’t change a thing about yourself and please don’t share every bit of yourself with Hollywood. They take way too much and I fear that if you continue to give and give there will be nothing left. If you love what you do then stay with it! If not, get out! I’ll miss your angelic face and personality but I’d rather never see you again knowing you’re happy than see you on the internet every day looking hollow and empty. Sleep more, eat more.
