Will Ferrell: ‘Man Vs Wild Was Too Weird to Turn Down’

Will Ferrell took part in a special episode of Man Vs Wild because it was “too weird” to turn down.
The Hollywood funnyman starred in a celebrity edition of explorer Bear Grylls‘ action-packed show in Northern Sweden but soon found he was along for more than just laughs.
“I’m a big fan of the show,” says Ferrell on how he came to join the snowbound adventure. “My name came up because they wanted to do a show with a celebrity and it was too weird to turn down.
“So there I was, 40 miles outside the Arctic Circle. There was a moment where we were going down the side of an ice cliff and Bear slipped and I was holding the rope.
“I literally had to sit there for 40 minutes while we worked out how to get him back up. That was pretty hard and cold!”
Meanwhile, Ferrell, 41, has revealed how he ate a raw reindeer eyeball as part of the press build up for his new film Land of The Lost.
“I did eat the cornea of a reindeer. Bear cut out this little gelatinous disc from the eyeball and was like, ‘Here, try this!’”
