Hafdis Huld — Have a Listen
Posted by Adam
Icelandic singer Hafdis Huld — a person you’ve probably never even heard of — played an intimate (not that kind) gig at a very-difficult-to-find venue in London last night. She was very good.
She performed a bunch of songs from her new album, including her new single Kongulo — which I love. It’s embedded below.
Kongulo is the Icelandic word for spider; the song was inspired by Frenchman Alain Robert, known as the ‘human spiderman’, who climbs skyscrapers using just his bare hands. He recently climbed the 41-storey Royal Bank of Scotland office block in the center of Sydney. Upon his descent he was arrested by NSW Police and charged with risking the safety of another by climbing a building. The twat.
Kongulo, in case you cared, was released earlier this month. You can download it here and, I assume, buy it at your local record store when it’s released on June 21.
