Cameron Diaz’s Co-Stars Gave Her Support

Cameron Diaz has revealed how her My Sister’s Keeper co-stars helped her deal with her father’s death last year.
“I was really, really fortunate to have these people to come back to,” the star told People magazine. “Being able to go back to the group of people who were there waiting for me was a blessing, so that’s really sort of the only way I was able to do it.”
Diaz, 36, was in the middle of filming the movie when her father Emilio died suddenly after a bout of pneumonia in April 2008.
The film’s makers shot around her two week absence and she eventually returned to the set and finished the film, which also stars Abigail Breslin and Sofia Vasssilieva.
“She was like the rest of us — a rag doll and unsure and didn’t know what country she was in and truly wasn’t fully able to comprehend what had happened to her,” recalled the movie’s director Nick Cassavetes.
“But, being the consummate professional that she was, she always comes prepared.
“It was more of an experience of her getting through it and let’s finish.”
