Katy Perry says her pet cat is her substitute boyfriend.
The Hot N Cold singer — who recently rekindled her romance with Gym Class Heroes rocker Travis McCoy after a four-month split — prefers her cat Kitty Purry to men because their relationship will never make the cover of gossip magazines.
“I’m a bit obsessed with my cat,” said the 24-year-old. “She’s my substitute boyfriend. It’s pretty funny that I can’t go for dinner with someone and not be sleeping with them. That’s one of the unfair things. I have iChat dates, those are fun.”
Katy also admits she was shocked at the success of her debut single I Kissed A Girl, which got to number 1 in over 16 countries.
“I thought it would have some attraction in the States and that people would get the joke, but I didn’t expect to go to random places in Germany, Scandinavia or Japan and people would know every single lyric,” she said.
