Queen Latifah has revealed she was a victim of sexual abuse as a child.
The rapper-turned-actress — whose real name is Dana Elaine Owens — says a teenage babysitter preyed upon her, leaving her unable to form relationships as an adult.
“He violated me,” the 39-year-old told Essence magazine. “I never told anybody. I just buried it as deeply as I could and kept people at an arms length. I never really let a person get too close to me.
“I could have been married years ago, but I had a commitment issue.”
