Nicole Scherzinger wants to sing the Philippine national anthem when boxing champion Manny Pacquiao fights again.
The Pussycat Dolls star — who is half-Filipino — is due to perform with three other members of the band in Manila.
And Scherzinger says has always been a fan of the Filipino boxer.
“[It] would be an honor to sing the national anthem,” she said. “So, let’s make that happen! I’m so proud of him. I’ve been following him.”
Junior welterweight champion Pacquiao hand-picks the singer of the national anthem at his bouts, so Nicole could be in with a chance.
But he has so far not announced who he will fight next, or who will sing the anthem.
In an interview with America’s ABS-CBN television, Nicole — who is currently dating British racing driver Lewis Hamilton – also revealed that she is preparing to take a break from music to concentrate on launching a movie career.
“I’ve been given the Manny Pacquiao script so we’ll see what happens with that… if I’m going to be part of that in any way it will be a blessing,” she said.
