Christian Bale: ‘Call me What You Want’

Posted by Adam

alo-07012321Christian Bale doesn’t care that he’s getting a reputation as a grumpy A-lister.

The actor — who recently hit the headlines over his foul-mouthed onset rant — insists people can call him whatever they want.

“People can label me whatever they want to label me,” he says. “That’s their prerogative.

“I’m like ‘Whatever. I don’t care. Call me an a-hole. I’m alright. That’s fine. If that’s what you think of me, then that’s your right to think that of me’.”

Bale, 35, recently revealed that he feels uneasy about photographic software which records exactly when and where each snap was taken.

“It feels very Big Brother,” he said. “Then there’s the whole security system thing where people have all the cameras set up in their homes.

“I’m convinced that there’s somebody watching and listening the entire time. You can press a button and speak with somebody and they can hear you. Oh yeah, like they’re not listening in an awful lot!”

Everyone is judging a man off of a five minute mistake. None of you were there and none of you know him. Everyone loves to judge successful people. Movie goers don’t understand the intensity and dedication that goes into method acting. Actors are people who pretend to be someone where as method actors actually become someone. It requires a great deal of endurance and strength to keep that persona up. For someone to knock you out of it would be like if someone blasted a boom box with the volume all the way up beside your ear as you sleep. Until you have worked on a set and with actors none of you are in a place to judge. I’ve seen things like this happen on sets before. It’s more common then anyone realizes. Take the stress load that you feel at a typical job and triple that. The hours are incredibly long and the work is grueling. People snap on sets all the time. On sets though you get so used to it that as soon as someone is done yelling at you you move on. Especially if they stop long enough to realize that they were out of line and apologize. I was screamed at one day for something that was pretty trivial. The person apologized and we both forgot about it. That’s life on a set. Bale did apologize to Hurlburt and they continued working that day. It was dropped. I’ve heard good things about him from people who have worked with him. We all have those moments where we lose it. You can’t judge his entire character just based off of that.

I hardly heard a single negative thing about Bale and then as soon as that recording was leaked everyone is like, I always knew that he was a bad actor. As if the rant have to do with his acting ability. Even if he is an ass, which I’ve been told by people who have worked with that he’s not, why should any of you care? If the man delivers and does his job then that’s all that should matter to you. He certainly is a damn great talent. Christian Bale has earned critical acclaim and praise from filmmakers, critics, and fans alike.
