Ashley Greene and Nikki Reed Quit… Smoking

Ashley GreeneAshley Greene and Nikki Reed are doing their bit to be better role models for their young fans — they’ve given up smoking.

The Twilight stars — Ashley, 22, and Nikki, 21 — have ditched the nasty habit in a bid to set a positive example to their teenage followers.

“Everyone on the cast smokes, and they are all trying to quit because they are on Twilight and know they are in the public eye,” an insider told E! News.

“[Ashley and Nikki] know they are role models for little kids. If there are a ton of paparazzi photos of them smoking, that’s not a positive image.”

The girls are ditching the cigs by using something called “SmokeStiks.”

“SmokeStiks look like those fake cigarettes actors use in plays,” says a tester. “There’s no smoke; it just lights up when you puff.”

    i think its great Ashley Greene and Nikki reed has stoped smoking to set a better example I’m proud of them when i saw Nikki smoke it broke my heart she is my role model seeing her smoke mad me feel like she was giving her life away shes so beautiful and smoking is not for a great beautiful actress like her and for Ashley shes a awesome actress and beautiful as well i hope they can live a healthy life without smoking and i loved you guys in twilight and i look forward in seeing you on the big screen for new moon.

    it brakes my heart to see all the twilight cast smoke. i realy and truly wish yall did not smoke. those of you that are triying not to smoke keep up the good work.

    I’m so happy they are trying to quit. It’s true that they are role models for people, but it’s also really bad for you. My grandfather had cancer last year. He suffered though treatment and then had surgery. He was said to be cancer free, but it came back and he died after even more suffering at a young age. It’s affected all of us and hurt us all. His bad habit caused us to lose him and my little cousin won’t ever remember him. I would never want to see that happen to any of the Twilight cast!

    i can’t beleive that the twilight cast is smoking and its a godd thing that Nikki and Ashley are giving up and smoking bbut i don’t like the part that they did

    I want to wish Ashley and Nikki the best of luck. I think that they are setting a great example for their young fans.
    I was so disappointed when I saw the millions of pictures that show the whole cast of Twilight smoking.

    God, why are all of you guys so lame?
    It’s just none of your business if they smoke or not.
    You guys sound sort of like dramatic when you talk about them smoking, just like if someone died.
    Let them live their life and when smoking belongs to their life, get over it because it’s not the end of the world.

    Ashly never smoked. she is the one helping niiki stop bust she never had the habit herself. people need to get it right if theyre going to post it. btw if nikki and the rest of the cast want to smoke let them. its their bussiness. get over yourselves.
