Ashlee Simpson-Wentz refuses to read anything that’s written about her family.

The Melrose Place star — who raises son Bronx Mowgli with husband Pete Wentz –  says she won’t even pick up magazines or newspapers if they mention her relatives.

“I don’t read anything. If it’s sweet and positive, I might read it,” says Simpson. “Jess, Pete and I all do that. If it’s a good review or a nice story, we might read it. But if somebody just wants to be mean for no reason, then we choose to ignore it.”

Ashlee and Fall Out Boy rocker Pete were recently forced to deny claims their marriage is on the rocks.

It had been reported that the couple — who welcomed their first child in November last year — was on the verge of a split as Ashlee struggles to balance her career with motherhood.

But a statement from their rep quashed the speculation.

“Contrary to any reports, the marriage is not in trouble,” the spokesperson said. “Ashlee and Pete love one another, love being a family and are in a stable, happy marriage.”
