Katie Holmes’ SYTYCD Performance Pays Homage to Judy Garland

Oh, this should be good!
Katie Holmes will pay homage to Judy Garland for her So You Think You Can Dance performance.
For her routine, Holmes sings Garland’s Get Happy, from her 1950 musical, Summer Stock, according to a witness at the Monday rehearsal at FOX Studios.
The 30-year-old “also dons an all-black ensemble similar to Garland’s black velvet fedora, patent leather heels, nylon stockings, body-hugging skirt and micro-mini skirt,” reports Us Weekly magazine. “Part of the set appears to be made from scaffolding, creating the illusion that she’s dancing on a rooftop with a sky backdrop. She shares the stage with eight male dancers, who wear matching suits and ties.”
“They are making it seem like a huge Broadway production,” a source said Monday. “It’s a massive set.
“[She] has been working on this for a long time. She is working with the choreographer Tyce Diorio. They want it to seem like she waltzed in and put it together very quickly, but that’s really not the case. This has been a longtime in the making.”
So how’s she doing? “She’s killing it,” the source added. “She looks incredible. She is just doing an amazing job. Everyone is absolutely floored by how talented she is.
“Her performance might broadcast this week as news has started to leak out — but they’re trying to save it for July 8th, as that is the 100th episode.”
