Robert Pattinson ‘Fine’ After Taxi Incident

Robert PattinsonRobert Pattinson fans needn’t worry: the actor’s fine!

The Twilight star –  who’s currently in the Big Apple filming his new movie Remember Me – collided with a taxi on the street outside the Strand bookstore in downtown New York Thursday.

He apparently attempted to run across the street to escape a hoard of fans when he was clipped on his hip by a moving cab, whose driver slammed his breaks upon impact.

A rep for Summit Entertainment has told Entertainment Tonight that the actor is doing fine after the incident and production continues on his movie.

Sources onset of Remember Me — which also stars stars Emilie de Ravin, Pierce Brosnan and Chris Cooper — claim that Pattinson regularly attracts mobs of fans throughout the city wherever they’re filming. “It’s been nonstop busy all day with people trying to get a glimpse of him, and the crowd goes nuts when they do see him,” an insider said Tuesday.

“I think he appreciates it. He’s not one to make a big deal about it. He’s a chill guy and quiet so far,” the source adds. “I think he finds it a little weird that people are standing outside all day to get a glimpse of him, but grateful.”

Robert, 23, recently revealed his fears that he wasn’t paying enough attention to his legions of fans.

“I feel guilty because when you have hundreds of people looking to you, you have to live up to expectations,” he said.

“You see all these people that surround you and you think that one way or another you have to please them.”
